How to Save Streamed Telegram Videos to the Gallery

Telegram can download different video qualities according to connection speed. A blindGram notice from March 13, 2025, explained that this adaptive streaming behavior could prevent some videos from being saved to the gallery or shared as ordinary files.

Workaround

1. Open the drawer menu.

2. Open Settings.

3. Open Data and Storage.

4. Turn off Stream Videos and Audio Files.

5. Download the video again before saving or sharing it.

Turning streaming off makes Telegram fetch the normal media file instead of relying on connection-dependent segments. Setting names may differ in newer Telegram versions, but the relevant control remains under Data and Storage.
