blindGram 13.2 Beta 1: first test build on Telegram 11.8.2

blindGram 13.2 Beta 1 went out on March 11, 2025 as the first blindGram build on Telegram 11.8.2, meant for testers who report problems, not for everyday use.

This is an archived announcement from the blindGram Telegram beta channel.

Why this beta existed

Telegram changes its Android app every few weeks, and each change can move a button, rename a control, or break the reading order a screen reader user relies on. Before a final blindGram release is built on a new Telegram version, a beta goes out so those problems can be found and reported first. Beta 1 moved the beta branch from Telegram 11.7.0, the base of blindGram 13.1, to Telegram 11.8.2.

What the channel warned

The channel said plainly that this was an early build and that serious problems were possible. It was for people comfortable running beta software and reporting what they found, not a replacement for the stable release.

What came next

Beta 2 followed two days later, and the migration was finished in blindGram 13.2 Final on March 16, 2025, which also made the expanded reaction picker and topic creation accessible. Betas are still posted in @blindGram_BETA2 today, and the current stable release is on the blindGram download page.
