blindGram 11.0 Beta 1: early test build on Telegram 9.6.3

blindGram 11.0 Beta 1 was published on April 28, 2023, as an early and possibly unstable build on Telegram 9.6.3, meant for testers rather than everyday use.

This is an archived beta announcement. Two months after 10.1, Telegram had moved on to 9.6, which brought a power-saving mode and newer playback-speed controls, and both had to be checked with a screen reader before blindGram could ship on it. This beta was the first build on that base.

Who it was for

The notice asked regular users not to install it. It was an early build that could be unstable, and its job was to let testers find what the newer Telegram foundation had changed or broken for screen reader users, including TalkBack. For everyone else, the advice was to wait for the final.

What followed

A month later, on May 28, 2023, blindGram 11.0 Final shipped on Telegram 9.6.6 and made power saving, playback speed, and voice recording work properly with a screen reader. The previous final is blindGram 10.1.

Betas are still posted in @blindGram_BETA2, and the current release is on the download page.
