Jalali dates and voice message playback time in blindGram 1.6

blindGram 1.6 let a screen reader report how far a voice message has played, added an optional Jalali calendar, and fixed the problems reported in version 1.5.

Version 1.6 followed 1.5 by two days, on May 7, 2018. It was partly a repair release for 1.5 and partly a set of small additions around voice messages, music and dates.

Voice messages and music

  • While a voice message plays, the elapsed time is available to screen readers such as TalkBack, so you can tell where you are in a long message instead of guessing.
  • Voice messages and music now have separate proximity sensor settings, so what happens when the phone comes near your ear can be set for each of them.

Channel signatures and Persian dates

  • When a channel post carries an administrator's signature, it is announced at the end of the message. Today the switch for this is Announce the channel post author in Messages settings.
  • Dates can be shown in the Jalali (Shamsi) calendar. It is optional, and today the row is Use the Shamsi (Jalali) calendar in General settings.

Fixes from 1.5

Problems found in version 1.5 were corrected.

Today's voice and music rows, including earpiece playback and seeking, are on the Media settings page, and the calendar switch is on the General settings page. The current release is on the download page.
