# blindGram 15.1 Beta 3: read Telegram messages word by word

blindGram 15.1 Beta 3 lets a screen reader read a message by character, word or paragraph, keeps the keyboard down until you ask, and fixes the first-call busy tone.

Beta 3 was posted in the beta channel on September 4, 2026, on Telegram 12.10.1. Unlike [Beta 2](/blog/2026-08-30/blindgram-15-1-beta-2-telegram-12-10-1/), it comes with a long list of changes, and most of them are about how a message sounds and how you move through it with TalkBack or another Android screen reader.

### Reading a message piece by piece

- A message can be read by character, word or paragraph with your screen reader's own reading control, instead of the whole message in one breath.
- Your screen reader's long-press gesture now opens the message menu, on ordinary messages and on service messages.
- A playing voice message no longer turns the message itself into a slider. While something plays, the playback position is its own stop beside the message, and it says the position in words. The row behind it is **Voice message slider accessibility** under Media.
- An empty chat is no longer one unlabeled stop covering the whole screen.
- In a channel, the pinned message bar is read after the last message instead of beside the chat title.
- The Update Reactions button in channel and group settings keeps its label after you change a reaction, as does every button of that kind in the app.
- A community's Search and Settings buttons are named, and the decorative avatar and gradient behind them are skipped.

### Keyboard and message box options

- **Don't open the keyboard automatically**, under General, keeps the keyboard down when you reply, edit, open a search box or open a sheet. Tapping the text field, or a control that asks for the keyboard, still opens it.
- Four new switches under General remove controls you may never use: **Hide the emoji, stickers, and GIFs button**, **Hide the send notifications button**, **Hide the attach media button**, and **Hide the mute button in channels**. All of them are described in the [General settings guide](/docs/general/).
- Every blindGram Area screen now has a **Help** button in its header. It opens that screen's documentation in Persian or English, according to your phone number.

### Calls and the audio player

- The first incoming call after the app has been in the background is no longer answered into a busy tone, and one missed call no longer makes every later call busy until you restart the app.
- The audio player is shown above a channel's live stream banner, so pause, seek, speed, elapsed time and close stay reachable while music or a round video plays.
- Download and upload percentages are no longer read over playing music, and only for the item you are standing on.

### Channels, topics and forwarding

- At the end of a channel or topic, a forward flick moves to the next unread one and says its name, instead of bouncing back with a tick and a vibration. When nothing is left, it says so.
- Reaching the end of a long forum topic list no longer hangs the screen reader.
- Forwarding to a topic keeps every other chat you selected, and an unedited forward keeps albums and videos intact.
- Dictation no longer overwrites what is already written, and the caption is kept when you forward a photo or video with Advanced Forward.

### Crash fixes

Eleven reported crashes are fixed, including restoring a settings backup, creating a poll while scrolling, spoiler effects, dictation, and removing a forward or reply from the send preview, along with other reported bugs.
