# blindGram 14.0 Beta 1: first test build on Telegram 12.8.1

blindGram 14.0 Beta 1 was posted on July 2, 2026 as the first blindGram build on Telegram 12.8.1, after more than a year on Telegram 11.9.0, and it was meant for testers only.

This is an archived announcement from the blindGram Telegram beta channel.

### A long jump in the Telegram base

The previous release, [blindGram 13.3](/blog/2025-04-02/blindgram-13-3-telegram-11-9-accessibility/) from April 2025, was built on Telegram 11.9.0. Telegram 12.8.1 is many versions later, with new screens, renamed controls and changed layouts in between. Every one of them has to be checked with a screen reader, and all of blindGram's accessibility work has to be carried over to the new code. Beta 1 was the first public build of that work.

### What the channel said

The APK came with the usual beta warning: a high-risk build, not for daily use. No detailed list of changes was attached, so this post records only what is verified, the release date and the Telegram version it was built on.

### What came next

[Beta 2](/blog/2026-07-06/blindgram-14-0-beta-2/) followed on July 6 and [Beta 3](/blog/2026-07-16/blindgram-14-0-beta-3/) on July 16. The final releases began on July 24, 2026 with [blindGram 14.1](/blog/2026-07-24/blindgram-14-1-stories-reactions-multilingual/) on Telegram 12.9.0. Betas are still posted in @blindGram_BETA2 today, and the current stable release is on the [blindGram download page](/download/).
