# blindGram 11.0: Telegram power saving and quieter voice recording

blindGram 11.0 Final, released May 28, 2023 on Telegram 9.6.6, made power saving and playback speed accessible and stopped the screen reader talking while you record a voice message.

This is an archived release announcement. Telegram 9.6 had added a power-saving mode and new playback-speed controls, and blindGram had been testing that base since the [11.0 beta](/blog/2023-04-28/blindgram-11-0-beta-1-telegram-9-6-3/) a month earlier. The final brought those features to screen readers, including TalkBack, and fixed a set of interruptions and unlabeled controls that users had reported.

### Telegram's new features

- Telegram's power-saving settings became accessible, so you could read and change them with a screen reader.
- The newer playback-speed controls became accessible too.

### Recording and playback

- While you recorded a voice message, the screen reader used to speak things you had not asked for. That unwanted speech was stopped, so recording stays quiet until you finish.
- Translation was fixed.
- Automatic download and playback of the next track was fixed. Today the switches for it are **Auto-Download and Play Next Voice** and **Auto-Download and Play Next Music** on the [Media page](/docs/media/).

### Copying and what you hear

- Copy ID was added for users, groups, and channels, so you can copy a numeric ID from a profile.
- You could switch off the sender's name in what a message says.
- You could stop the announcement made each time someone joins a voice or video chat. Today it is **Announce when someone joins a voice or video chat** on the [General page](/docs/general/).

### Labels and fixes

- Controls that users had reported as unnamed were given spoken labels, and other accessibility bugs were fixed.
