# blindGram 6.0 public beta: testing the move to Telegram 6.2

On June 12, 2020 blindGram opened its 6.0 public beta, the first public build on Telegram 6.2 that testers could install in place of the stable app.

This is an archived announcement from the blindGram beta channel.

### Why a public beta

Telegram 6.2 was a big change to Telegram's own code, and blindGram's accessibility changes had to be carried over onto it. After a first round of testing and fixes for the major problems, the build was opened to anyone who wanted to help.

### What testers were asked to do

Unlike the experimental builds that installed beside the main app, this beta was meant to replace the stable blindGram on your phone. Testers were pointed to the beta channel, @blindGram_BETA2, and asked to report what broke, so that 6.0 Final could ship in good shape.

### What came next

Two weeks later [Beta 3](/blog/2020-06-26/blindgram-6-0-beta-3/) reached a steadier stage, and on July 2 [blindGram 6.0 Final](/blog/2020-07-02/blindgram-6-0-chat-preview-folders-media/) was released with accessible chat previews, Telegram folders and media seeking. Beta builds are still posted in the same channel. If you would rather run the stable app, take it from [the download page](/download/).
