# blindGram 3.0 Beta 1: an early test build on Telegram 4.9.1

blindGram 3.0 Beta 1 went out on December 1, 2018 as a rough first build on Telegram 4.9.1, meant only for volunteers willing to test beta software.

This is an archived announcement from the blindGram Telegram beta channel.

blindGram 3.0 Beta 1 moved the accessible Android client to Telegram 4.9.1. Its job was early compatibility testing: to see how the accessibility work held up on the newer Telegram base before a final release was built on it.

The channel did not dress it up. This was an untested first build with many possible problems, intended only for people comfortable running beta software and reporting what they found. If those problems got in the way of everyday Telegram use, the advice was to go back to the stable [blindGram 2.1](/blog/2018-08-26/blindgram-2-1-profile-media-layout-controls/).

The next public build was [3.0 Beta 3](/blog/2018-12-10/blindgram-3-0-beta-3-stability/), nine days later. Betas are still posted in @blindGram_BETA2 today, and the current stable release is on the [download page](/download/).
